Mussey Grade Road was the route from San Diego to Julian until 1943
when the San Vicente Dam was completed. After the dam was completed,
Mussey Grade Road came to a dead end as the reservoir was filled over
where the road exhisted. The reservoir is used to store drinking water
for local communities.
